Romans of St Albans is a proper specialist car dealer. The range of cars on offer is fabulous and they deal with customers in a thoroughly professional way. Based on my own experience, I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them.

As a car collector I have met a lot of dealers over the years, and with mixed experiences.
John at Romans was a breath of fresh air from start to finish, a traditional dealer who is clearly very passionate about cars and is customer service focused. He responded timely to every call/email, and even after the sale, which is the stage when a dealer shows his true colours in my view. I understand that a lot of his customers are repeat buyers, and I can see why.
The car itself is special, a manual gearbox V10 R8 with just 8k miles in 7 years. I bought the car remotely during the crisis, which can always be a risk, but in this case the car is everything that John described, and more.

A Decent, Straight old school company!
I would normally buy my toy cars via main dealers as I look for the comfort they give me!
And to be honest I was a little apprehensive going to an independent dealer but they had a car that looked as if it would fit what I was looking for.
As there are a fair way from me I made contact via email and got a phone call within a few minutes from Lucas who was not pushy and really knew about cars.
He explained the history of the car and said it was like a new car.
So I arranged to go up and see it, and he was not wrong, the car was as Lucas said it was, and they were fair and honest in pricing my PX and we stuck a deal.
As week later I picked up the car and it was presented in perfect condition.
I have had the car for a week and so far remain delighted.
They may not have the polish of "bull" of main dealers but they do have really nice cars, and you are looked after.
Lucas was really good and did not push me in anyway and was a pleasure to deal with.
Nice to deal with people that are straight, honest and do what they say there are going to.

I've recently sold my car to Romans of Saint Albans, as after talking to John they had just sold a car like mine and they had another potential client looking for a similar model they arrange collection of my car to themselves which all went very smoothly.
Having never met or been to the garage it's hard not to sceptical of if they going to stick to the agreement.
but everything went very smoothly the client purchased my car they paid me the agreed price which is a very fair trade price.
Im 100% happy with the service, Very straight and professional from start to finish.

I recently purchased a Bentley Continental GT from Romans despite planning to only buy from a Bentley franchised dealer. In discussions with the guys at Romans I was reassured by their sincerity and pragmatic approach to my wishes. The car is as advertised and the service was as promised during our negotiations and the car was properly presented on collection, what more could be expected? One very satisfied customer from the Midlands.

I asked Roman's of St. Albans to sell my little used manual V10 Audi R8 on a commission basis and they provided me with really great service throughout the entire process. The Covid lockdown was another complication that added a further challenge. John advised on all aspects of the sale, was super-responsive whenever needed and was reliable and professional throughout. The car was also beautifully prepared and well marketed. If you are looking to sell your car on a commission basis - which is a route that can carry some risk - I have no hesitation in recommending Romans of St. Albans.

What can I say.... They have managed to get my wallet to open twice.
The first car a Mercedes Sl63 Low owners, low mileage, stunning condition exactly as described and a good deal.

The service was that good I went back and part exchanged the Mercedes for a Dream Car.... The service was exceptional and in all fairness even better than the first time.

You end up being part of the family..... The service was personal, efficient, helpful and extremely trusting.....

Will I go back..... of course I will.... but only when I can afford it...…

Great company to deal with, John delivered a first class service with an honest approach, nothing was too much trouble, the car was delivered direct to my door, I've bought and dealt with many main dealers but Romans of St Albans was better, proper find and I'll look forward to my next toy. Easy 5 stars for me.

Good guys .. sold my beloved SVR to the guys at Romans , was expecting the usual garage spiel on arrival , but found it the complete opposite . Was treated like a customer should be .
